Cardiologist Joins Deborah Heart and Lung Center

Mark Staroselsky, DO, Deborah Heart and Lung Center

Browns Mills, NJ— Deborah Heart and Lung Center welcomed cardiologist Mark Staroselsky, DO, to its roster of heart specialists.

Dr. Staroselsky comes to Deborah from Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, where he served as chief fellow while completing a cardiology fellowship. Prior to that, he was a hospitalist at Jefferson Health New Jersey in Washington Township.

“I am happy to join my new colleagues at Deborah Heart and Lung Center,” said Dr. Staroselsky. “It’s an honor to call myself a Deborah physician, and I look forward to building long-term relationships with my patients and helping them manage their heart health.”

Dr. Staroselsky’s special interests include preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease and heart failure. In addition, he is interested in how socioeconomic status can affect heart health. While at Nassau University Medical Center, he conducted research to discover how pregnant women of different socioeconomic backgrounds who were diagnosed with high blood pressure fared during and after their pregnancies.

Dr. Staroselsky earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Following completion of his degree, he completed a residency in internal medicine, also at Rowan.

In addition to his passion for helping patients prevent and manage heart conditions, Dr. Staroselsky is a skilled teacher and published author. He taught medical students, residents and fellows on a range of topics, including congestive heart failure, pericardial disease, aortic stenosis, cellulitis and more. He has authored several papers that appeared in peer-reviewed medical journals, and presented case studies and lectures to colleagues and faculty at various institutions.

Dr. Staroselsky’s professional affiliations include the American Medical Association (AMA), the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC).
