Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey collaborated with the Burlington Lodge #32 of the Free and Accepted Masons to host the 8th annual Take a Veteran to Lunch Event, which was sponsored in part by HeroCare Connect. The event included a short program in honor of Veterans Day, to express gratitude for the men and women who have selflessly dedicated their lives to our country.
This year’s keynote speakers included Corporal Benjamin Berry, 100-year-old WWII veteran and Quartermaster Hall of Fame inductee, and Private First Class Jacob J. Ruser. There were over 140 attendees and the event raised more than $19,500, which will be used to connect local veterans and military families with affordable homeownership, home repair, and volunteer opportunities. We are honored to have taken part in this event, which was a tremendous success!
