The heart valves control the flow of blood throughout the heart. They work 24/7 to keep blood flowing in the right direction through each chamber of the heart. Valve disease may affect any of the heart’s valves: aortic, mitral, tricuspid and pulmonary. On this episode of the Hurley in the Morning radio show, Muhammad Raza, MD discusses how the valves work, how they can be repaired or replaced, and what you need to know to stay heart-healthy.
Dr. Raza discusses symptoms of heart valve disease, diagnosis and current treatments for valvular disease. He explains the main types of heart valve problems and risk factors. Learn more about preventing, managing and living with valve disease.
